RECONCILIATION
The Sacrament of Reconciliation
In the sacrament of Reconciliation, also called Confession or Penance, we bring our sins to God, express our sorrow, and receive his forgiveness through the words of absolution spoken by the priest. It is the sacrament of God's mercy.
What Reconciliation means for every day life.
Everyone makes mistakes and carries burdens they would rather put down. Confession offers a fresh start: the chance to be honest about our failings, to hear that we are forgiven, and to leave with peace of mind and the strength to do better. Many people who return to Confession after a long time describe it as a weight lifted. The priest is bound by the absolute seal of confession and will never reveal what is said.
Please see the Mass Times page for regular Confession times, or ask Fr Peter for an appointment at another time. If it has been a long time, don't worry — the priest will gently help you through it.
