MARRIAGE

The Sacrament of Marriage

In the sacrament of Marriage, a man and a woman give themselves to each other freely and for life, promising to love and honour one another and to welcome children. The couple are the ministers of the sacrament to each other, and their love becomes a sign of Christ's faithful love for his Church.

What Marriage means fo everyday life.

Marriage brings God's grace into the daily realities of shared life: the joys and challenges, the work, the raising of children, the forgiveness and patience that every relationship needs. Married couples are a living witness of love in our community, and the Church walks with them through every season.

Couples planning to marry are asked to contact Fr Peter at least six months before the intended date, to allow time for preparation and paperwork. Couples who do not live in the parish but wish to marry at St Mary's or Our Lady's should complete the application form for weddings of non-parishioners.
