Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska's name is eternally associated with the annual celebration of Divine Mercy, the Divine Mercy chaplet, and the Divine Mercy prayer, which many people recite daily at 3 p.m.
More About Divine Mercy
Born as Helena Kowalska in what is now west-central Poland, she was the third of ten children. Before becoming a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in 1925, she served as a housekeeper in three different cities. Within the congregation, she took on roles as a cook, gardener, and porter at three of their locations.
