Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers
Becoming an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister is a unique calling that supports our parish priest and the wider parish community. It offers parishioners a beautiful opportunity to participate in fulfilling the sacramental needs of the parish. These ministers are designated to assist the clergy in distributing Holy Communion during Mass, conducting Eucharistic Services within the church, or delivering the Eucharist to those who are sick or homebound.
The term “Extraordinary Ministers” is used to differentiate them from Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, which include bishops, priests, and deacons. They are invited to take on this sacred ministry at the request of the parish priest and with the bishop's approval.

“The Eucharist is the vital centre of all that the Church is and does. At its heart is the real presence of the crucified, risen and glorified Lord, who continues his saving work among us. The Second Vatican Council reminded us: ‘the most holy Eucharist holds within itself the whole spiritual treasure of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Passover and our living bread’” (One Bread One Body n.3)
