Act of Reparation to the Blessed Sacrament

ACT OF REPARATION

BEFORE THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

FOR THE PARODY OF THE LAST SUPPER

ENACTED IN PARIS, JULY 2024

Lord Jesus Christ, Saviour and Redeemer of the human race, you instituted the Sacrifice of the Mass, on the night you were betrayed, as the perpetual memorial of your saving Passion, Death and Resurrection.

Celebrating the Passover with your chosen Apostles, recalling the liberation of the chosen people from slavery, you fulfilled all prophecy by yourself becoming the Lamb without stain who would take away the sins of the world. This you accomplished through the offering of your Sacred Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity to the Father on the altar of the Cross, that we might be freed from sin and death.

With sorrow for our own sins, we express to you our deep spiritual pain and distress that the greatness and holiness of the Sacrifice of the Last Supper has been so cynically and grossly insulted in such a public fashion at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.

We come before you, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, to offer reparation for this blasphemous offence against your Person and your divine love. In place of insults, we instead offer you praise; in place of blasphemy, we instead adore and glorify your Holy Name; in place of ridicule and scorn, we instead bless and thank you for the Banquet of Salvation; in place of dark and cold hearts, we instead offer you our fervent, grateful and ardent love.

Lord Jesus, you asked the Father to forgive those who crucified you because “they knew not what they did.” We now pray for all involved in the organization and execution of the abhorrent parody of the Last Supper which took place in Paris. We pray that the Light of your Sacred Heart will shine powerfully upon their hearts and minds. May the Holy Spirit make them both realize what they have done and repent of it sincerely and permanently. And keep us always humble and penitent before you since we know only too well how easily we ourselves can fall and offend or abandon your love and your grace.

Accept this humble act of reparation, good Lord Jesus, and may your Most Holy Name be ever blessed and praised for the immense gift which your unending Love has given us in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and in the Holy Eucharist. Receive our prayer from the hands of your Blessed Mother and through the intercession of Blessed Carlo Acutis, who so loved and adored you in the Sacrament of the Altar. Amen.

Our Father
