Live-streaming teething problems, 29.03.20

Dear All

I consider it a miracle that I was able to set up the live-streaming in the gallery of St. Mary’s! Thanks to Paul Buchert whose technical skills and GREAT patience made that possible.

We are having a few teething issues with the sound. It is not yet clear exactly what the root of the problem is, but we are hopeful it can be sorted.

I had hoped that we might be able to live-stream all day, but since there is no broadband in the church, we are using a mobile device. Long live-streaming is prohibitive cost-wise using this method. Hence, we will go live at 9.55am for Mass, followed by Exposition and the Rosary. Exposition will end in the simple form (i.e. without a blessing) at 12 Noon. I may add the Angelus just before that.

Hence there will not be permanent exposition between 10.30am and 7pm, as is said in the bulletin for today.

We will go live again on Sundays at 5.55pm in time for Exposition, Rosary and Benediction. Likewise, at 6.55pm on Wednesdays in time for Exposition and Stations of the Cross. And once again on Fridays at 2.55pm in time for the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Exposition. The Friday appointment on Good Friday will, of course, be for the celebration of the Passion of the Lord.

On Saturday evenings, we will go live at 5.55pm for the 6pm Vigil Mass. This won’t happen on Holy Saturday, when we will go live at 7.25pm in time for the Easter Vigil.

I will prepare another post for the Sacred Triduum early next week.

With my prayers and blessing to you all.
